Production team The Stereotypes, known for crafting hits for the likes of Far East Movement and Mary J. Blige, dropped their debut album, titled The Fifth Of Never, under the moniker JON MCXRO this week.
Their debut project is a 10-track album, released on their Facebook page, which Billboard Magazine called "a mix of party songs and feel good music, reminiscent of hip-hop's golden era of the 90."
"The album title is a term we frequently use, and when asked when we were going to start our project, our reply was always, 'on the 5th of never,' " member RayRo explains of the title.
What started out as a fun, experimental passion project for the guys finally saw the light of day.
The project features guest appearances from Miguel, Sterling Simms, and D.A. (Chester French).
The group has also partnered with myWORLD Mobile to create a unique mobile app, which gives fans a never-before-seen look into their world. Whether it is a studio session with your favorite artist, a video shoot or anything else, it is exclusive content that offers viewers the ability to not only watch the group, but also to communicate with them.
It streams the album, as well as merges their Twitter and Facebook with real-timechatting, and other cool options.
JON MCXRO (pronounced like the tennis great) is an acronym made from its lead members' names and is comprised of Stereotypes (Jon Street, RayRo and Jerm Beats), along with their artist, Houston rapper Three.
It boasts the singles, "Lego" and "Girlfriend."
