Trey Songz has shot to the top of the R&B world over the last few years. But, just because he's made it, that doesn't mean he's forgetten where he's from ... and that's what the music video for his latest single, "Top Of The World", is all about.
The singer starts off the clip by saying a prayer on the football field with family and friends ... back in his hometown of Petersburg, Virginia.
Then, it cuts to a scene with Trey in a room by himself, counting money as he sings about money not being as important as he thought before ... realizing Petersburg is where his heart is at, so he goes back.
In the video he treats residents to a meal on the football field and provides haircuts to the kids; and even enjoys the simple pleasures such as playing basketball and shooting dice with his family.
The single is off his new mixtape, Anticipation II; and forthcoming EP, Inevitable, due November 28.
