Dancehall Star Vybz Kartel Charged With Second Murder, Being Investigated For More
Jamaican dancehall star, Vybez Kartel, has been hit with a second murder charge, following an arrest on a separate murder earlier this month.
According to the Jamaican Gleaner, the 35-year-old DJ (real name: Adidja Palmer) was charged with the shooting death of Clive "Lizard" Williams on Monday (October 24), following an interrogation by authorities two days before he was slated to appear in court to face murder and weapons charges stemming from a separate murder.
That's not all either. Authorities says they are investigating his involvement in other murders as well.
"He is being investigated in connection with a number of murders, shootings and gun running," head of the St Andrew North Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB), Assistant Commissioner of Police Ealan Powell, told the paper this week.
"Lizard" was killed on August 16. His body has yet to be recovered. However, police say they have "graphic descriptions" of his murder.
The circumstances of his death were unknown at press time.
In late September, Vybz was arrested for the July shooting death of local promoter Barrington "Bossie" Burton, 27. Authorities picked him up at a hotel he was staying at, and also found a quantity of marijuana, and was also charged with possession.
