Kanye West went off one of his signature rants recently. This time, during his performance at the U.K.'s Big Chill Music Festival on Saturday (August 6) when he went off on a nearly 8-minute monologue midway through his set.
During his performance, the Chicago rap star addressed a few things that seemed to be eating away at him -- including the media's portrayal of him, award show stage crashing, the controversy surrounding the video for his single "Monster," and even compared himself to Hitler and Michael Jordan.
"I walk through the hotel and I walk down the street, and people look at me like I'm f***in' insane, like I'm Hitler," he lamented to the audience.
Regarding the "Monster" video, he defended it as art, rather than a misogynistic visual toward women.
"Who saw the video before it got banned, before they took it down and before women's groups starting saying that a person that lost the most important woman in his life is now against women in some way?" asked West, referring to his mother's 2007 death. "[The video] was really artistic but once again it was thrown in the misogynistic box because they couldn't understand how a rapper could have the taste and sensibility high enough to do something like that without it being misogynistic," West explained. "And once again, I wake up and I'm a monster."
