Miguel & Lloyd Have Confrontation Regarding Beef Over Similar Hairstyles

By Allen Starbury   |   Published 07/13/2011

Miguel and LloydThe beef between singers, Miguel and Lloyd, has finally come to an end, after  they met face-to-face this weekend, backstage Z107.9's Summer Jam in Cleveland ... following days of controversy over their similar hairstyles.

Everything started last week, when Miguel reacted after seeing Lloyd's new haircut, sending him a shot through Twitter (@MigMoney): "Imitation is the Highest form of Flattery. Shout to LLoyd."

After hearing about it, Lloyd wasn't happy ... and the pair ran into each other over the weekend, which ultimately ended with Miguel apologizing, but only after Lloyd told him he felt disrespected.

Audio of the conversation hit the net, which starts with Miguel bursting into the dressing room singing "The Wayans Bros." theme song ("We're brothers, we're happy and we're singing and we're colored").

But, Lloyd wasn't having it and immediately asked Miguel why he sent out his controversial tweet.

"Why would you even say that though?" he asked.

An apologetic Miguel replied, "Yo, it shouldn't have been said, as honest as I may have been. If it was like me and you having a conversation and I said it to you, it would have been different. The fact that I said it on Twitter was f***ed up and I apologize for that."

Lloyd then explained why he was so upset over the situation, saying he doesn't like to be called a copycat.

"The fact is that I was not trying to imitate you," he said. "I just felt like it was disrespectful. On some real sh**, it was cheap and I felt like it was distasteful. The idea behind it wasn't to mock you or imitate you, it was just to shave my [hair], so I could get a tattoo. For you to say that and bring all that kind of energy to me... It's album release week, so why am I answering questions about Miguel when I should be talking about my album that I worked two years for?"

Eventually, it seems as though, they worked out their differences ... and there should be no more blog topics over their similar hairstyles.

Because, for one, Lloyd says he's growing his hair back.

Because they're pretending to be something they're not. They should be making music for men like themselves. Unlike you a name doesn't make you gay, well maybe YOU, because they're gay people with many different names i.e Dwayne Carter and Brian Williams.
