Cory Gunz has been doing his thing for a minute, but it was his guest appearance on Lil Wayne's hit single, "6 Foot 7 Foot", that has his buzz at an all-time earlier this year. In turn, it helped him land his MTV reality show "Son of a Gun."
With the first season of the show a page in history, the rapper wants to give it another go with a second season, despite all the stress it brought on.
On the show's first season, Gunz let viewers into his life as he struggled with being in the shadow of his father, rapper Peter Gunz; while keeping his lawyer at bay in a feud with manager Nick Cannon over the direction of his career.
Still, the rapper TheBoomBox.com that the show has been a "tremendous help."
"Son of a Gun' has been a tremendous help. Reality TV is a gift and a curse; it can either help you tremendously or it can finish you," Gunz said. "In our case, it worked to our advantage, so we're pushing for Season Two. I'mma go with that for the album title as well, it's going to be crazy."
In addition to reality TV, Gunz also told TheBoomBox that he plans to hit the road with his Young Money family this summer for the second round of the "I Am Still Music" tour, set to kick off July 13; and hopes to drop a mixtape before his album, which won't see the light of day until 2012.
"Top of next year," he said of his forthcoming debut. "I got a lot of projects I'm working on."
