Production for the upcoming Tupac Shakur biopic, "Tupac", seems to be coming up. Late spring was the expected time frame for production ... all they need now is the cast.
According to TooFab.com, casting for the film will begin on Monday (March 21). Production company Morgan Creek has teamed up with Skee.TV to accept audition videos for the lead role of Tupac online.
The companies have set up a website, specifically for the search of the actor at InSearchOfTupac.com. Anyone interested much post a five-minute video over the course of the next month.
The film's producer David Robinson tells TooFab.com that they're "looking for someone with the right mix of raw charm and charisma for the role."
"At this point, we're more concerned about finding someone with the ability to give their entire heart into the performance than just looks and personality," he continued.
The film will be directed by "Training Day" director Antoine Fuqua, who previously said he hopes to find an unknown to play the late rapper.
As previously reported, will chronicle "the life and legacy of Tupac Shakur, including his rise to superstardom as a hip hop artist and actor, as well as his imprisonment and prolific, controversial time at Death Row Records, where he was steeped in the East Coast /West Coast rap war."
"Tupac" will be produced by James G. Robinson, David Robinson, and LT Hutton, while Tupac's mother, Afeni Shakur, serves as executive producer.
