Funk Legend Bootsy Collins Unveils 3D Coverart For Upcoming Album

Bootsy Collins - Tha Funk Capital of the World coverartWith his new album, Tha Funk Capital of the World, set to drop in late April, funk legend Bootsy Collins is trying to do something a little different to entice his fans to purchase his CD.

He's dropping holographic 3D album art in a limited amount of CDs, created by Roy Koch, Mascot Records' in-house artist.

"The album cover art work breathes like it is a living being/city... it's alive," Collins said.

The new album will also be available in a two-LP transparent blue vinyl, and features the track, "Don't Take My Funk," featuring Catfish Collins and Bobby Womack, which Rolling Stone recently called it "effortlessly groovy" (preview the track here).

Tha Funk Capital of the World features appearances by fellow P-Funkers George Clinton and Bernie Worrell, along with an all-star lineup of musicians and other celebrities such as rappers Snoop Dogg, Chuck D, and Ice Cube; actor Samuel L. Jackson; banjo phenom Bela Fleck; the Rev. Al Sharpton; scholar Dr. Cornel West; guitarist Buckethead, and more.

It drops April 26. Bootsy will announce announce tour dates soon, as well.
