After spending over a month and a half in an Ohio jail for assaulting a police officer in December, rapper Charles Hamilton was recently released.
According to TheBoomBox.com, Hamilton was bailed out on Wednesday (January 26), but he will still have to undergo a mental health evaluation in his case.
As previously reported, he was referred to a psych clinic just after New Year's, and must still undergo "MNTL TREATMNT UNTIL CMP," as stated in a case summary.
The former Interscope-signee was arrested in Cleveland, Ohio in mid-December for disturbing the peace. However, when police attempted to subdue him, he allegedly struck one of the arresting officers in the face, and was summarily charged with two counts of assault and resisting arrest.
His bail was set at $25,000, which Hamilton has apparently made.
At press time, when Hamilton is due back in court was unknown.
Hamilton was previously underwent an psychological evaluation in July 2010, when he checked himself into New York Presbyterian Mental Hospital to get his "mind right."
At the time, he explained that he had been consumed by music and needed help.
"All I wanted to do and still want to do is make music," Hamilton explained. "It got to the point where I started talking in rhymes all the time, even in just regular conversations. And music just became me, so I thought it'd be a good idea if I checked into the hospital just to get my mind right."
