 Gucci Mane was arrested in Atlanta on Tuesday afternoon (November 2) after police caught the rapper driving down the wrong side of the road.
According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the rapper (real name: Radric Davis) was driving recklessly in a white Hummer, which was spotted by an off-duty officer. After police were notified, they responded and eventually found the vehicle parked at a business, where Gucci was arguing with one other individual.
Officers tried to break up the fight, but Gucci reportedly struck the other unnamed person. Police then used pepper spray to subdue him.
Gucci was charged with running a red light or stop sign, damage to government property, obstruction, driving without a license, no proof of insurance and other traffic charges (in addition to driving on the wrong side of the road).
Following the arrest, he was first taken to Grady Memorial Hospital to be checked, then was transported to the Fulton County Jail.
This latest arrest is just one of many legal problems plaguing the rapper over the years. Back in May, he was released from Fulton County Jail after serving six months on a parole violation charge.
Upon his release he vowed to make a positive change, and focus on his career goals.
"I have made some mistakes in my life that have hurt a lot of people who care about me. I have worked very hard to get past them, but those mistakes have brought me to where I am today, and they will not be repeated," he told reporters in a prepared statement. "These past six months have been a difficult time, but fortunately I have learned a great deal from my experience. I was able to do a great deal of soul searching; I am coming out with a new attitude towards life."
Reports surfaced in October that Gucci was said to be seeking treatment for cocaine addiction in the Southern Regional Psychiatric Center in Georgia.
