Singer Mario was arrested in Baltimore Friday morning (October 1) for allegedly assaulting his own mother in an apartment they both share.
According to TMZ, the singer's mother Shawntia Hardaway told police that Mario been "throwing and damaging property" ... and pushed her around with his hands and forearms.
When police arrived at the residence, they found several broken items -- including a broken china cabinet, a busted mirror and a hole in the closet door.
Hardaway also told authorities that the 24-year-old singer had attacked her earlier in the week, pushing her "eight feet into a living room wall, where Ms. Hardaway hit her head on the wall."
Mario (real name: Mario Dewar Bennett) was arrested for 2nd degree assault, and was later released on $50,000 bond.
According to TheBoomBox.com, Mario has a history of violent behavior. In July, he reportedly punched a sound engineer at the 16th Annual Rochester MusicFest after he cut off his microphone and turned the lights on when his set ran too long.
