It is so nice to see someone of your background become such a success!!! I don't remember the first time I saw you, but "Machete" won't be the last!! You are one of the actors that if I or my husband see listed, we always give it a shot..Thank-you for somewhat going public with your life and letting people know what you can do with a second chance!! With MUCH respect Brother!!

Wow, I can not believe that You have made it this far. I can remember when You first came out, and nobody hardly knew who You were. Well, it is safe to say that You have been through hell and back and have risen to the top of Your game and are still pushing forward. I enjoyed watching the short clip of You going back to East LA to visit Your neighborhood. Keep up the good work, and good luck in the near future. :)

It always warms my heart to see and hear honest success stories. Kudos to you Danny for being an awesome person.

  • Mark

Congratulations. You are a good example of what can happen in your life when you get it on the right road. I too come from a very bad past. Drugs, guns, violence. Today I am a respected Tribal leader and trying to show the youth on my Rez what can be accomplished when you make right choices. Never be ashamed of where you came from, be proud of where you landed. Good job, Bro.

Your were an inspiration to me nearly 28 yrs ago at a Sat. Nite Live meeting in Venice, when I was at RTC at the VA, and still are Danny.

    God Bless

Dude, I remember seeing you in movies years ago. I think the first time I saw you as more than a character actor was in "HEAT". Keep up the good work.

  • USDevildog1961

Congratulations. You're moving up in the industry. Been watching you over the years and you never let us down. Had the privilege of meeting you twice, once on Venice beach many years ago and more recently at an Italian Restaurant in Toluca Lake (Burbank). Keep up the good work and good luck in the future.

Danny Trejo is a class act. As a chauffeur in Los Angeles, Industry people can be trying at times. I drove Mr. Trejo to the premiere of "Spy KIds" a few years back. Upon arriving at his residence, he introduced me to his wife. He was humble, personable and full of life through out the evening. He was also generous. He may not remember me, but I remember him. To the baddest of the bad guys. Bill Haines, Avalon Transportation.

Congratulations. It's about time. You were due for a lead role long time ago. I first saw you in "Blood In Blood out: Bound By Honor"(1993),which is a must see!.After seeing "Bubbleboy" i knew you were gonna be a star someday,I was right. I think people dig your character, because you are a Mexican American tough biker with long hair and 70's mustache. But when you start talking your positive. Always giving advise in your small roles. Nevermind what people say about your past. That's why it's called the past. Everyone's entitled to mistakes.keep making your mark,"Vatos locos forever"!.

  • Michele

Thanks for your amazing example. Met you in North Hollywood and remember hearing where you came from and how humble you are. This success is a long time coming. Keep on going! Congratulations!

Hey Rob Rodriguez, lets do a movie about Danny´s life, what daya think?? Danny Trejo, you are my inspiration, my real hero, man. Congratulations!!!

    Dear Mr. Trejo,
I am a former State Corrections Officer for the Point of the Mountain, long ago in Utah.

I've known Very Violent Drug people, Murderers, Serial Killers, and all the types in prison. Most of them, I believe belong there, but... I am also always quite happy when I see a person do a "Turn-Around," such as YOU have done.

Some people in prison ARE lifetime criminals with the "Don't Leave Any Witness," and if they "Can't Hold Onto It, They Deserve to Have it Taken From Them," mentality. HOWEVER, YOU HAVE BEEN AB EXCELLENT EXAMPLE TO ALL, ESPECIALLY THOSE WHO JUST DID SOME STUPID THINGS IN THEIR LIVES, BUT... IF REALLY GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY, CAN CHANGE NOT ONLLY THEIR LIVES FOR THE BETTER, BUT OTHERS WHO ALSO NEED A REAL OPPORTUNITY FOR CHANGE & i DON'T MEAN EVERYONE HAS TO BECOME A STAR, AS YOU HAVE, BUT THEY CAN CHANGE FOR THE BETTER!

Danny, YOU are a Great Inspiration, a Great Roll-model for others!!!

I KNOW you are a very busy man, BUT... Never be too busy to help others who feel "Left-Out & in Desperation," anytime you can.

Nothing is perfect in our lives...
God Bless you & you Family & Friends for giving you the support a person needs at various times in their lives...

Jerry Rodrigues, an American living in Nanjing, China

MAN, IS GREAT TO SEE LATINOS MAKE IT....

DANNY TREJO HAS PUT HIS MARK IN THE GAME....

BOUT TIME HE GOT RECOGNIZED, AND IT FILLS OUR HEARTS WITH PRIDE....

MAYBE NOW HE WILL GET CASTED FOR OTHER TYPE OF ROLES INSTEAD OF THA TYPICAL PACHUCO GANGSTER ROLES....

ENOUGH WITH THE STEREOTYPES, LET THE MAN SHINE!!!!!

Holmes, yo tanbien agarre la onda hace tiempo. Ahora dedico mi vida a los menos afortnados. I walked the same steps and was in the same ship. (SQ) but now as life goes on we are on a different boat. We will and I won't ever forget what I owe society, by doing the things that just come natruely. The price you pay does not have anything to do with what you recieve. If it takes years to find this out, its still goooooood! With freedom you do God's will and life shows you this on a dailey bases. It seems like you can jump as high as you need too! ESE, calmado bro. Loy (safos

  • Jose Maribel de la Cruz

It's good to see latino actors making it, I do wish it was in another role OTHER than selling drugs, killing people, and pushing illegal activity.

Is this what we want to think Latino's only do? And see kids in Machete costume? I think not... Thank Danny but I'll stick to more real role models, not fantasy killers for idiots to enjoy

  • Lisa Vasquez

    Danny,
I have been watching your movies for so many years, I always remembered you because you reminded me of my one of my sisters boyfriends...a cholo dude that was scary but cool! I am so happy that you made something of your life and are finally being recognized by the rest of the world but I know that us Chicanos have always been fans of your movies! Congrats and good luck!

This is one man that ive loved seeing in all his movies, thou i never knew about his back ground as a teen, wow he really paid a price like our mexican daddy;s say for being hard headed, but the past is the past and he has come a long way, will all i can say is im proud to know you are who you are and do what you do, and have so many love you that is so awsome, keep it up, and see you in your great movie

  • Ron Castillo

It's great to see that you finally got a leading roll after all these years. I first met you when you came to a little town called Santa Maria,CA to speak in front of so many strangers who needed someone like yourself to speak of what a few good decisions can do to turn your life around. My children were thrilled and I am so greatful to my brother-in-law, George, for inviting us along. We knew then, that a new movie was coming out, "Desperado", and that you had done "Blood in, blood Out" with Eric Roberts, so we had to go see them, and we haven't missed a single movie that we knew of that you were sure to be in. Robert Rodriquez is a talented movie maker and he knows good talent when he sees it. It's great to see that this movie, with all the A list people, such as, Cheech Marin, are again joining you in this latest film.

From all the people that you have helped in the past, and those who will be inspired by you in the future, I salute you.

  • TJ

You're an inspiration man...no matter what happened in the past, get it together inside in the present moment and live well...

  • Very Proud

I am not of hispanic heritage but I have always loved watching Danny Trejo in all of his movies. It is alwways good to see someone of the same difficulties rise up. Machete will be no different and I will defintely go see it.

  • gloria

Danny i am proud of you, keep up the good work.

  • tommy Loya

glad to see Danny having the success he deserves. Its a good example of how you can make anything out of yourself no matter where you come from. I've know esteban for a while and he too has become a huge success in the photography world. Im proud of both of them. I love going into cartoons shop downtown and seeing your work stevo.

  • Andrew A

The people have spoken and the people demand Danny Trejo. Can't wait to see the movie. A true class act.

  • itsjustme

This might sound like a Hallmark card, but here goes anyway...
I hope you realize what a great impact your example is having on many folks struggling with issues. Please keep striving to do better, don't give up. I know you aren't going to run and join a Bev Hills Gang (sounds like an SNL stint), but there is a lot of temptations out there. Watch who you hang with. Keep yourself busy doing good deeds and you won't leave room for temptation to seep in.

And...do not let your success go to your head. Remain humble and you will always be respected and loved. There is a lot of folks who might want you to stumble, but just remember there is a heck of a lot more gente out there that want you to succeed!

Life is not perfect, you will be confronted with issues along the road, but just ride them out and you will be just fine.

By the way...I love the 'stache. Just like my pops (mi jefito - a.k.a. Yosemite Sam) wears it. He's another great man. (Not famous, but definitely GREAT!)

Cuidate mucho mijo and hold your head up high because you've made it out.

God bless you and your familia.

    Fan in Corona, Califas ;)

  • callen

I remember you from years ago and all the movies. Desperado is my FAVORITE. I just watched it a few days ago. I LOVE YOU. It is about time you get the recognition you deserve. You HAVE earned it. Great to see you make it this far. Maybe you can speak to TI and help him to stay straight and out of trouble. I hate to see talent go to waste, and he is wasting his.

  • Tracie

I have always enjoyed watching every movie that you have ever been in, i doubt you will read all these awesome compliments to you, but they are all full of heart and compassion for you!..who really cares about your past? the past is just that, "THE PAST",,we all have a past, be it bad or good, and you definately are the good!..may GOD continue to bless you, and may you keep inspiring other people to make something of themselves, it is never too late to improove yourself!

  • Liz

You have done your time and now you are the star. I always thought you were the hardest working actor in Hollywood. You deserve all the success that comes your way! God bless you and your familia.

  • thatsalligottasayboutthat

I know everyone is entitled to their own opinion (Sorry...not hating on you...just expressing myself.), but I wouldn't diss poor Machete for playing the role of a bad-ass. (Plus, aren't we all tired of seeing FAKE bad-asses on the big screen? Machete is the real deal.)

In reality, the movie does seem to be a lil' risque for my taste too, but I realize that 'it's JUST A MOVIE' and I will go see it, just to support Machete. Hey, I never heard anyone diss Bruce Lee for kicking the crap out of everyone either. (Another great bad-ass.)

I also realize that it's definitely not a movie that your kids should be watching. Go take them to see some other Robert Rodriguez movie. (Spy Kids or Shark Boy and Lava Girl)

And...People should look up to DANNY TREJO the SURVIVOR, not the fun-loving, FICTIONAL CHARACTER: 'Machete'. How does that go again, 'Machete, Y QUE?'.

    From someone in Califas.

  • gomakemeasandwich

This dude seems cool as hell. The movie looks dumb, but the guy seems cool. Good luck man.
