 DJ Skee was named as one of Billboard Magazine's2010 "Power Players: 30 Under 30" list this week, a list that highlights young industry executives that are driving the music industry forward today with their artistic and business vision.
At just 26, DJ Skee (real name: Scott Keeney) has become a music industry influencer and currently DJs for KIIS-FM Los Angeles, and runs four Sirius/XM Radio shows.
Additionally, the DJ runs a multimedia music/marketing/production company called Skee.TV, which has created distinct marketing campaigns for Fortune 500 companies, and cranked out several music videos for no. 1 singles over the past years.
"It's a honor to be recognized by Billboard Magazine in this year's '30 Under 30 list,' " said DJ Skee. "This year has been a big year for Skee.TV and we look forward to continuing the momentum with creative events, videos, new business partnerships and innovative marketing initiatives."
Skee is among 30 other young industry people, including Daniel Weisman of Elitaste, Best Buy's Entertainment mgr Josh Arnold, Josh Briggs (director of ASCAP's membership), The Orchard's VP of development and operations Josh Builder, and many others.
DJ Skee started off his career as a DJ when he was a teenager in Minneapolis and moved to Los Angeles at the behest of Loud Records/SRC founder Steve Rifkind. Since then, DJ Skee has quickly become the voice for his generation with his work on the biggest radio station in the country, the top viewed channel online on YouTube, and collaborations with hottest artists in the world.
DJ Skee has been to tapped by top artists, industry executives and brands to oversee and consult on innovative marketing campaigns -- including DJ Hero, BET Awards, Michael Jackson's "This Is It" Premiere, the Michael Jackson Motown MegaMix for Universal Motown, EA Sports' NBA 2010 Launch Party and TransWorld Motorcross Awards in Las Vegas.
Additionally, this year the young innovator launched Skeetox, a live music experience featuring a live seven-piece band, an LED light wall and special guest artists.
