For all your Ice Cube fans, you may want to keep your Internet bookmarks locked to his website, IceCube.com, because the veteran rapper stays very active there.
In a blog entry, posted last Thursday (July 15), Cube checked in with fans to reveal a new release date for his upcoming I Am The West, as well as info on forthcoming music video premieres.
According to the rapper, the album is now set to drop on September 28th, and the next music video on the horizon is "Drink the Kool-Aid", scheduled to debut later this month.
"I'm still droppin' song after song, so look for 'Drink the Kool-Aid' later this month. I want to give you the song wit visuals," Cube wrote.
After the album news, Cube discusses a recent string of shows through Japan, where he ran into another west coast vet, Kurupt.
Apparently, 'Rupt is one of Cube's favorite MCs.
"When I got off stage I saw Kurupt and chopped it up wit him in my dressing room. Kurupt is one of my favorite MC's," the rapper explained. He's got complicated metaphors that's still gangsta."
That same evening, Cube ran into Snoop, and the two spent some time chatting about the NBA, specifically their hometown Lakers' win over the Boston Celtics to win back-to-back championships.
Oh, and he weighed in on Lebron James' move too.
"We talked about the Lakers kickin' the Celtics ass in the Finals," Cube wrote. "We laughed about LeBron joining The Heat. It won't work, Lakers are still the team to beat."
