Eminem made a splash on the charts this week, blasting off at no. 1 over releases from Drake, Miley Cyrus, Ozzy Osbourne and The Roots.
Eminem's Recovery lands at the top spot with a staggering 741,000 copies sold -- the largest sales week for a single album since October 2008, when AC/DC's Black Ice debuted with 784,000, according to Billboard.com.
It's Em's sixth straight no. 1 debut. His only album not to open at no. 1 was his 1999 debut, the Slim Shady LP, which landed at no. 2 instead. As far as hip-hop acts goes, Eminem has the most no. 1 albums right behind Jay-Z who has earned 11.
Em's last album, 2009's Relapse, opened at no. 1 with 608,000 sold.
Behind Em, at no. 2, is Drake's debut, Thank Me Later, falling one from last week and selling another 157,000 copies.
The last top 10 debut this week comes from The Roots, who's new album How I Got Over starts at no. 6 with 51,000. It's the group's fifth top 10 effort, following 2008's Rising Down, which also started at no. 6, but with 54,000.
Outside the top 10, there's Usher's Raymond v. Raymond at no. 14 with 24,000 sold, and B.o.B's The Adventures of Bobby Ray closes out the top 20 in the last slot with 19,000 sold.
The only other new hip-hop release this week comes from Texas rapper Z-Ro. His new album, Heroin, debuts at no. 131 with just over 4,000 copies sold.
