Lil Wayne appeared in an Arizona courtroom on Friday (June 18), via a video feed from Rikers Island, for a plea hearing stemming from a January 2008 arrest in Yuma.

According to the Yuma Sun, the rapper (real name: Dwayne Carter, Jr.) entered a guilty plea to one count of possession of a dangerous drug, as part of a plea agreement that could keep him out of jail.

In exchange his guilty plea, charges of possession of a narcotic drug for sale, misconduct involving weapons and possession of drug paraphernalia against him were dismissed.

Details regarding the plea agreement were unknown at press time.

Weezy is scheduled for sentencing on June 30.

The charges stem from an incident in January 2008, where the rapper's tour bus was stopped at a U.S. Border Patrol checkpoint near Dateland, 78 miles east of Yuma.

During the stop, authorities said they found cocaine, ecstasy and a handgun on his tour bus. Weezy was charged with multiple gun and drug offenses -- three felony charges in all.

He originally pleaded not guilty to all charges.
