She's baaccck. Yes, Da Brat is back after serving nearly two-years of a three year prison term assaulting a woman in an Atlanta nightclub back in 2007.
The rapper (real name: Shawntae Harris) is free, revealing -- via a recent vlog by her longtime producer, Jermaine Dupri -- that she was released to a work release program.
Brat was sentenced to three years in prison in August 2008, stemming from an incident in November 2007 where she hit a nightclub hostess in the head with a liquor bottle. She was arrested and charged with aggravated assault.
But now that's she's free, Brat is ready to get back to doing music. But, she revealed that, as part of her work release terms, she's been holding down a 9 to 5.
"I'm out on a lil' pass; I had to do some lawyer, attorney stuff," Brat said in the vlog episode. "I got a job. I work a 9 to 5 because I'm in the work release program. I make windows, so if ya'll need a window, holla at your girl."
According to Rap-Up.com, the rapper is prepping the release of a new mixtape, and in the immediate future, plans to do more TV, film, etc. work.
"I'm finna come out, run fast, doing everything I can get my hands on," Brat exclaimed.
