Since breaking onto the U.S. pop scene in 2005, Lady Sovereign has always been vague about her sexual orientation. But, speculation always pointed toward either a gay or bi-sexual preference.

In previous interviews, when asked about if the U.K. rapper would avoid the question. Not until recently has she hinted at having "dated girls," and according to reports. engaged in several same-sex sessions while appearing on the UK's version of popular reality show, "Celebrity Big Brother."

Lady Sov finally cleared the air in a recent interview with UK lesbian magazine Diva, admitting that she is, in fact, a lesbian.

The rapper explained that -- in the past -- she was advised against revealing her sexual preference, but finally decided she didn't care anymore.

"Magazines would always ask about [my sexuality] but would get stopped by my publicists," Sov told the magazine. "It was my choice, too, because I was a bit worried about it -- but now, I don't really give a sh**. You can't hide away forever. It's just stupid and now I've come out I feel a lot more comfortable with myself. But it was a bit scary back then, because some people do have horrible opinions."

Lady Sov is so comfortable with herself these days, that on her second album Jigsaw, released last year, she details a painful break-up with an ex-girlfriend on one of its songs.
