The Game reached a settlement in court last week, concerning a civil lawsuit stemming from a 2007 assault case where he allegedly punched a man during a pick-up basketball game.
Details regarding the settlement were not disclosed at press time.
Shannon Rodrick filed a civil suit against the rapper (real name: Jayceon Taylor) back in 2008, claiming he was "injured in his health, strength and activity" and suffers from both mental and emotional anguish, as well as embarrassment, after Game punched him and shortly thereafter threatened him with a gun.
Game was arrested for the incident, and charged with possession of a firearm in a school zone, which he pled no contest to and was sentenced to 60 days in county jail.
He served eight days and was later released.
Game's lawyer, Lonnie J. Brandon, still maintains that his client did not have a firearm after the time of the incident, and called Rodrick's lawsuit was filed strictly for financial gain.
Despite the legal problems, Brandon says the rapper is "happy to have the case behind him."
