Big Boi Announces Deal With Def Jam Records For Solo Album
Outkast's Big Boi has been working on his long-awaited solo project, titled Sir Luscious Left Foot, for quite some time now.
Just last week, he finally found a home to release it. Via an update on his Twitter page (@Therealbigboi), the rapper announced that he recently inked a deal with Def Jam to release his first official solo project.
"THE INK IS ON THE PAPER!!! BREAKING NEWS!!! It's OFFICIAL! BIG BOI signs SOLO album DEAL with DEF JAM!!! More details to come..." Big Boi tweeted.
According to HipHopDX, the rapper's deal with Def Jam comes after he refuted a Def Jam statement, calling that his relationship with Jive Records was "a great situation."
While there was no official release date for Sir Luscious Left Foot, reports say Big Boi is planning a May release.
Over the past couple years, several of the album's tracks have leaked. Below is a list:
- "Royal Flush" feat. Raekwon and Andre 3000
- "Sumthin's Gotta Give" feat. Mary J. Blige
- "Dubbz" feat. Backbone
- "Shine Blockas" feat. Gucci Mane
- "Tangerine" feat. T.I.,
- "Fo Yo Sorrows" feat. Too Short and George Clinton.
Big Boi is the latest veteran addition. Just recently, label head L.A. Reid flew all the way to Belize to sign Shyne.
