Hitting the big time isn't easy, and that's why Heatwave Interactive brings to Platinum Life Web Edition, a PG-friendly look into hip-hop and how to live the life of platinum star.

The social-networking game allows you the ability to create your own rags to riches story through three different avenues including becoming a rapper, singer or DJ.

Similar to other Facebook web games, you create and authenticate your character who can be male or female. The flashier the better. You then go through a series of events in order to advance to the next level and earn cash and fame by picking up new equipment and insider advice from industry executives along the way.

In one level, you can be playing at someone's private event and slowly transition to playing for more prestigious events. Eventually you get the chance to create your own mixtape.

Like any true platinum life tale, there will be drama and people along the way that you'd have to check in order to move forward. You character will also build his or her entourage as they move closer to the "platinum life," life including a manager, hype man, front man, mix master and others.

There's also a "battle" section featured in the game that allows you to test your skills and compete against other Platinum Life gamers.

Heatwave Interactive made sure there was a real world element to the game as well. In the first social networking hip-hop game, there's actual athletes and artists' bios and newsfeeds from the likes Ludacris and several other hip-gop heavyweights.

Platinum Life Web Edition is now available, in BETA version, in Facebook's app world.
