It's been a while since the Beastie Boys' Adam "MCA" Yauch revealed to fans that he believed he's beaten cancer.
In October, the rapper explained -- to the trio's fan mailing list -- that he was feeling "healthy, strong and hopeful that I've beaten this thing" just months after he revealed that he had been diagnosed with cancer.
Just recently, he told Entertainment Weekly that he's ready to get back to working on music.
"I feel better," Yauch told the mag on Friday (March 5). "It was touch and go there for a while, but I am finally getting my energy back."
Before the news of his condition were revealed, the Beastie Boys were gearing up for the release of a new album, titled Hot Sauce Committee, Part One, and a corresponding tour.
Those plans were placed on hold while Yauch focused on his health.
While things are still uncertain regarding the record right now, Yaunch said he, Ad-Rock and Mike D are planning to get back into the studio to revisit the record he says they completed over a year ago.
From there, they will see if they'd like to record more material or leave it as is.
"We finished the record over a year ago, so we want to take a look at it and reevaluate and make sure it is what we want to put out there and that we are still happy with it. I don't think we will change it up too much," he says.
Yaunch says he expects Hot Sauce to come this September.
