While Atlanta rappers Young Jeezy and Gucci Mane supposedly ended their long standing beef months ago, their crews may have not gotten the memo, because their crews violently collided in the ATL Thursday afternoon (March 4) and shots were fired.
According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the incident took place inside Walter's Clothing in downtown Atlanta around 4 p.m. after members of Gucci's 1017 Brick Squad spotted Jeezy's associates.
Once they saw each other, they immediately began fighting, a witness tells the paper.
"They just started going at it," said Patrick Morrison, a Walter's employee.
When police arrived, the security guard -- who is employed by local rapper Waka Flocka Flame -- was detained.
Waka Flocka Flame is a member of Gucci's crew, and according to Morrison, he caught a couple punches during the altercation. "Whoever he is he's got a big swollen eye now," Morrison said.
Neither Gucci Mane or Young Jeezy were directly involved in the brawl.
Gucci is currently serving time at the Fulton County jail for a probation violation. He is set to be released in May.
The beef between Gucci and Jeezy dates all the way back to 2005, but it was supposedly squashed in December when DJ Drama got both rappers on the phone during his Gangsta Grillz radio show on local Hot 107.9.
At the time, Gucci even hinted at a possible collaboration.
"I'm a hundred percent down with it [squashing the beef], you know I'm 10 toes forward," Gucci said on air. "I'm with it and I think it's a great idea and that's what I'm fittin' to do. I hope everybody is ready cause it's back on."
"That's what it is homie," Jeezy said in response. "What's understood ain't gotta be said man. We gonna do this for the city, so you just hold your head up. Me and Drama gonna hold it down brah, and that's what it is. One hundred."
