More details surrounding Guru's condition surfaced on Wednesday (March 3), when the rapper's nephew released a video statement telling the "true story" behind his uncle's hospital stay and coma.

The young man -- who identifies himself as Justin Nicholas-Elam Ruff, Guru's nephew and son of the rapper's older sister Trish -- posted a 10 minute-plus YouTube video where he makes some shocking revelations over a rift between his uncle, the rapper's partner Solar, and his family.

First, Ruff explains that Guru has actually been hospitalized since early February for an undisclosed illness, and then, during the last week of February went into cardiac arrest and fell into a coma.

According to Nic, Guru's family had no idea he'd been hospitalized until two weeks after he had been admitted. After Solar notified his siblings that he had suffered a heart attack and fallen into a coma, they rushed to New York to be by his side.

Shortly after, news of the rapper's condition leaked to the public, and this is where things get ugly.

"Since the information leaked [to the public] Solar has completely cut us off," Nic says in prepared statement. "My family has no way of knowing what is going on with Guru's situation. Solar has complete control over the flow of information given from the hospital and will not disclose any information with us."

While Nic says his family were contemplating taking the matter to court, they decided against it because of the lengthy process. Now they await news of Guru's status, just like the general public, via released statements from the rapper's sidekick, Solar.

The rapper's nephew claims he's reached out to Solar via text, just to get an update about his uncle, only to receive a furious text in response saying "Trish (Guru's sister) started this!!! And Guru would have never told her he was in the hospital. This is horrible what she did!! Now, I need to care for Guru, peace."

While Ruff admits that Solar has been working hand-in-hand with Guru for the past six years, he says it's wrong what he's doing to his family.

"That does not give him the right to make decisions or whether or not his family gets to see Guru, or learn about his status," Ruff said. "The fact that he is acting like this lets me know that he does not have Guru's best interests in mind. It is a control thing with Solar."

On Wednesday, Guru released a public statement, via Solar and their PR team, saying that he was fine and that Solar was the only person with "accurate info on my situation."

Despite the claims from Ruff, Solar says otherwise.

In a tweet (@Solar_7Grand) late Thursday (March 4), the producer denied the nephew's claims saying: "I have not prevented or would I stop Guru's family from visiting with him. In fact, I contact them daily! Anything other than that is a lie."

He later added that both the rapper's brother, sister and niece visited him last week ... and retweeted an update from Guru's Twitter page (@GuruGangstarr) that echoed his statement.

According to Solar's updates, the rapper has awaken from his coma and is currently recovering. However, they say he's weak right now.
