Rapper DMX has spoken about his aspirations to deliver the word of God several times in the past, as a pastor, but his actions have shown otherwise.
X is planning a "gospel rap extravaganza" (a flier read) for his church on Saturday (March 6) at a local high school in Glendale, Arizona, for a good cause.
According to TMZ, the performance will take place at Independence High School, as a part of a fundraiser for his Morning Star Sanctified Church.
"This is an opportunity for me to use my gifts to benefit a good cause. My music offers hope! God has been good to me," X told the site.
The rapper and his family have been attending the church's services for eight months now, the pastor said, adding that he wants to raise money for repairs.
Advance tickets for the event are currently on sale for $35. Otherwise, it's $40 at the door.
