Lupe Fiasco has reportedly submitted the finalized version of his third album Lasers to his label, and is awaiting a release date.

So, until then, he's touring the world feverishly, getting fans familiar with new material. Along the way, he has done some press where he recently revealed that he's working on his first book.

According to TheBoomBox.com, Fiasco told New Zealand press that becoming an author was always a part of his plan.

"I started off as a writer," the Chicago rapper told 3News New Zeleand. "You know, since I was a little kid, I've been telling stories and actually hip-hop has just been an extension of me telling stories. So putting it in a more traditional form as far as a book has always been a part of the plan."

The as-yet-titled book will be published under his legal name, Waasalu Muhammad Jaco.

However, further details were unknown at press time.

Some sources claim Fiasco's book will follow the life of a window washer.
