In December, "Boondocks" creator Aaron McGruder revealed, via a Twitter update, that his popular comic strip-turned-animated series was set to return in the new year.
Well, McGruder finally announced a date of May 2nd in a tweet (@AaronMcGruder) on Friday (February 25).
"Hey folks... Boondocks coming back May 2nd! (We swear!)," the cartoonist wrote. "Please follow @boondocksBTLG for the latest info and updates."
The new date will mark the cartoon's third season, following a two-year hiatus. It premieres on Sunday, May 2nd at 11:30 p.m. on Adult Swim.
"The Boondocks" is an animated series featured on the Adult Swim network, based on McGruder's comic strip by the same name.
