Rapper Young De, an associate of B-Real's Audio Hustlaz camp, has teamed up with Akomplice clothing and rising video director Matt Alonzo (Skee.TV) for a collaborative project called "Blaze of Glory."
The project is a one-off song, music video, and limited edition fitted all of the same title, which will be available in a bundled package in the coming weeks.
Young De recorded and leaked the song via MP3 just last week, and then, teamed up with Alonzo (whose credits include Soulja Boy's "Turn My Swag On" and The Game's "Dope Boys") for an epic-looking music video shot through the streets of Los Angeles.
According to Alonzo, he and his crew shot the music video, guerrilla style, through the streets of Los Angeles, filming in several different locations. When the finished product is released, he says it'll look like a big budget mini-movie.
"If you've seen 28 Days Later times ... I don't even know what to say. We have Young De walking around L.A., empty city. You don't even know where he's walking to. All black suit. You've never seen Young De like this before. It's gonna look huge," Alonzo tells BallerStatus.com.
"It's an I Am Legend, 28 Days Later type of vibe. The whole song's about basically when he dies, people remembering him and stuff like that. What I wanted to do is capture a vision of walking to heaven -- no one really knows what that is -- or going to heaven. So, what I created was Young De walking throughout L.A. all by himself in a black suit through all these locations. You get this eerie, crazy type of vibe. You don't even really know what's going on."
"It's basically about going out in a 'blaze of glory,' like 'N**** you not gonna forget me," adds Young De with a laugh. "He called me like 'Young De, I want you to wear a suit.' And I was like 'Woah, woah, woah ... I ain't gonna be wearing no suit.' But then he came and talked to me, and the concept blew my mind so much, I was like 'Ok, let's do it.'"

In addition to the music video, Colorado-based streetwear company Akomplice has designed a very limited run of fitteds as a part of the collaboration. It will be available in two different color ways -- one being red with a black bill, and the other, a black with a grey bill. Only 100 of these fitteds are being manufactured.
The limited "Blaze of Glory" fitteds will be accompanied by a DVD that contains the song's music video, and behind the scenes footage, as well as of the making of the project.
The bundled project is set to drop later this month. An actual release date had not been announced at press time.

Aside from the "Blaze of Glory" project, Young De is best known for his past work with Kurupt, his appearances on B-Real's solo debut Smoke N Mirrors, and his collabo mixtape with Shady Records recording artist Cashis called Homeland Security.
He is also working heavily with Xzibit on his solo project MMX, and a group project with both X and B-Real called Serial Killaz.
