T.I. made his first public appearance since being released from prison late last year, when he showed up at a fundraiser in Atlanta alongside fiancée Tameka "Tiny" Cottle.
According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the rapper showed up with Tiny in support of her Alzheimer's research fundraiser, "For the Love of Our Fathers" at Atlanta's Opera venue.
And, said he was just happy to be there.
"I am very well, very happy to be seen," T.I. told the paper.
The event was also filmed for Cottle's BET reality show, "Tiny & Toya," which chronicles the lives of both Cottle and Lil Wayne's ex-wife Toya Carter.
Despite T.I.'s appearance, he's still not finished serving out his sentence. He's currently serving the remainder of his sentence on a gun-possession charge in a Georgia halfway house. But, he's working.
He's been recording new tracks for his forthcoming album in a private studio. Last month, producer Jim Jonsin said he's been working back and forth with TIP, via email, on new tracks. He said the rapper hasn't missed a beat since his incarceration.
"It doesn't seem like he missed a beat," Jonsin said. "He was so upbeat, his spirits were up, and he's excited to be out and working. He hasn't changed, he sounded exactly like he did when I talked to him months before he went in."
MTV News also recently spoke with T.I.'s manager and Grand Hustle label partner, Jason Geter, to get an update on his next album. He revealed that it'd be released to coincide with the release of a film T.I. has a role in called "Takers," a film about a bank heist interrupted by a detective, starring Zoe Saldana, T.I., Chris Brown and Hayden Christensen.
"Both the album and the film are coming out at the end of the summer," Geter told MTV. "So, yeah, we have a release date."
The film hits theaters August 20. It was unclear if T.I.'s yet-to-be-titled album would be released on the same day.
Geter told MTV that the rapper has been working with many producers, including DJ Toomp, Danja, the Runners, and other up and comers. Features, well, those included The-Dream and Trey Songz.
T.I. still has 500 more hours of community service to perform as part of his sentence, and will be released from the halfway house in the coming months.
