Chris Brown appeared before a judge in Los Angeles on Thursday (February 18) for an update on his probation. He's doing well, a judge said.

"Looks like you're doing really, really well," Judge Patricia M. Schnegg told Brown, according to People. "That's always good to see."

According to the report, Brown has completed 17 out of 52 group sessions for domestic violence, not missing a single one. And, has completed 32 days of community service.

He also received similar praise from the judge at his last progress review in November.

Brown was sentenced to one year of counseling, 180 days of community labor and five years' probation, as a part of a plea deal for assaulting Rihanna early last year.

His community service duties include picking up trash alongside roads and highways around his hometown of Richmond, Virginia, trimming foliage along medians, removing graffiti, and washing police vehicles.

Since beginning his sentence, friends say that Brown has been getting his life and career back together, and is feeling good again.

"He's in good spirits," MTV's Sway Calloway said. "He's been doing work and speaking in circles with people who also have been victimized by domestic violence."

Brown is due back in court on May 11.
