Months after being released from prison and deported to Belize, rapper Shyne has inked a seven-figure deal with his former home, Def Jam.
Miss Info broke the news. However, details surrounding the deal have not been released.
According to the gossip radio personality, the rapper had been in a bidding war between several major labels and industry vets -- including Jimmy Iovine and Dr. Dre, and veteran manager Kyambo "HipHop" Joshua.
But, in the end, L.A. Reid seems to have won, bringing Shyne back to Def Jam ... for the second time.
If you remember, he inked a multi-million dollar deal with Def Jam back in 2004 for his own Gangland Records. He then dropped his second full-length solo LP, Godfather Buried Alive, which eventually went on to reach gold certification.
Miss Info says that Shyne's plan is to record his album in London. However, it's unclear how this will pan out, since he was recently denied entry into the country.
Details regarding his next album were unknown at press time.
Stay tuned...
