Queen LatifahQueen Latifah has recently signed on to executive produce a made-for-TV movie for VH1, through her production company Flavor Unit.

The upcoming film is currently untitled, but is set in Atlanta and is centered around the lives of two African American friends -- Val, a fashion designer; and Keisha, a movie video director -- and their ideas about dating.

It was written and will be executive-produced by Stacy Little, who also wrote the hit series "All of Us." Other producers on board, include Maggie Malina and Jeff Olde.

In a statement, VH1 said they would possibly turn the film into an ongoing series if the TV movie is a success.

VH1 also added that they plan to add more variety to their networks through the addition of scripted programs and television movies. The network is currently by reality-based programming.

Latifah and her Flavor Unit company have worked with VH1 in the past, on the television special "Broke and Famous: Willie Aames". She also created the pilot for the VH1/BET show, "Wifey".

Latifah's producing credits also include an HBO film called "Life Support," which earned her Emmy, Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild nominations.
