 Lil Wayne will be sentenced on felony gun charges this month, but before his impending jail time, he had a talk about it in a new cover story for Rolling Stone.
In the mag's latest issue, Weezy admits he was surprised when he found out he'd be doing jail time, but says that's life.
"I didn't know I was gonna be going to jail," Wayne told the magazine. "This happened at the height of my career! Nobody knows the future."
Later in the interview, the rapper said he is ready to do his time and get it over with, because there's one thing he doesn't like about the whole situation ... taking a break from music.
"This is not something you get no advice on," he said. "This is Lil Wayne going to jail. Nobody I can talk to can tell me what that's like. I just say I'm looking forward to it.
"I look at things as 'Everything is meant to be,' " Weezy continued. "I know it's an experience that I need to have if God's putting me through it. So I don't look at it as wrong, I just ... I damn sure don't look at it as right, that's all."
The rapper pleaded guilty to a felony gun charge back in October 2009, stemming from a July 2007 arrest in New York following his first headlining concert.
This month, Wayne is expected to be sentenced one year in prison as a part of his plea deal.
Also in the Rolling Stone piece, Weezy was asked about his syrup addiction. If you've noticed, the rapper hasn't been seen with a Styrofoam cup in a while. That's because he's given that up.
According to the rapper, he quit "cold turkey" in May of last year.
