In January, BET honored five black Americans for high achievement in entertainment, media, entrepreneurship, education and public service. This year's honorees were Whitney Houston, Queen Latifah, Diddy, Ruth Simmons and Keith Black. It was the third annual "BET Honors" ceremony in Washington DC. These are some of the photos.
