Bernard Hopkins, Roy Jones Jr. Re-Match Set For April
Published 02/02/2010, by Randall Stevens

Roy Jones and Bernard HopkinsAfter a 17-year wait, future boxing Hall of Famers, Bernard "The Executioner" Hopkins and Roy "The Terminator" Jones Jr., have announced that they'll collide in a long awaited rematch in early April.

Dubbed "The Rivals: Hopkins vs. Jones II," the match is set to go down on Saturday, April 3 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, and broadcast live on pay-per-view.

Hopkins (50-5-1, 32 KOs) and Jones (54-6, 40 KOs) are two of boxing's most decorated and recognizable fighters. In their upcoming fight, both plan to put it all on the line.

In their first fight, Jones came away the victor with a unanimous decision to take the vacant IBF
middleweight title.

Hopkins said he's been itching for a rematch for years, and says it'll be different this time.

"A rematch with Roy has been in the back of my mind for a long time and it's finally going to happen," said Hopkins. "I have accomplished a lot in my career since that night in Washington, DC in 1993, and I am going to end this thing between me and Roy once and for all."

"We're giving the fans what they want to see," added Jones. "They deserve this fight and why not supply the fans with what they demand? Now I can finally terminate the 'Executioner' once and for all. My new nickname for this fight will be: 'The Terminator.' "

Next week, both fighters will participate in a press tour with stops in New York and Los Angeles.

RJJ is simply too fast for B-Hop and has his #. Hopkins has no power, and his punch out put compaired to a new, or old RJ still could not add up. Never count RJJ out when he gets mad. Trust me. He still has something left in that tank of his, he just got to go out there and try to destroy, like the old Roy. I hope he whoop Bernard boring fighting, and old BLEEP.
