The independently produced film Twelve, which stars 50 Cent in a leading role, was recently bought at The Sundance Film Festival for a reported $2 million.
Hannover House, a independent publisher and media company, purchased the rights to the film, which is directed by Joel Schumacher, and based on the novel of the same name.
In the film, 50 portrays a young Harlem drug dealer named Lionel, who supplies drugs to "Gossip Girls" stars Chace Crawford to sell to his rich upper class friends.
In an interview with the New York Daily News, Fif' said he was shocked that Crawford received more attention from female fans than he did on set.
"I made a fool of myself the first day of shooting," the rapper told the paper. "I got to my trailer and I saw this huge crowd of girls screaming. I stopped and was kind of having a moment. Then I turned around, and Chace was behind me, and that's who they were freaking out for."
In addition to Twelve, 50 is also working on several other film projects. He is currently filming the movie Gun, alongside Val Kilmer, as well as a Jekyll and Hyde remake, featuring Academy Award winning actor Forest Whitaker, which is in pre-production, according to IMDB.com.
