Earlier this week, the Clipse's former manager Anthony "Geezy" Gonzalez was sentenced to 32 years in prison, after pleading guilty to being the ringleader of a multi-million dollar drug empire.
During his sentencing, he made this statement: "I just want to say that I'm sorry to my family and I'm sorry to the community."
In an 82-page indictment, Gonzalez was accused of running a drug ring from his Encore Lounge nightclub in Virginia, which he used as a front to launder the proceeds, from a drug distribution network where he moved more than a ton of marijuana and more than 100 pounds of cocaine since 2003
The prosecution claimed that he purchased drugs mostly from Panama, Arizona, California and Florida, either by plane or driven to VA via vehicles with hidden compartments.
The feds say Gonzalez and his associates claimed to be he "music producers, rappers, entrepreneurs, club owners, clothing designers and other legitimate occupations in order to conceal the true source of their income."
For his cooperation and lack of a serious criminal record, he was given the minimum sentence possible.
The indicment was handed down in April of 2009, and Gonzalez was taken into custody in Miami by federal authorities.
The Clipse have yet to comment on Gonzalez's sentence.
