You may have seen their scene stealing antics on MTV's hit reality show "Rob & Big," but you have never seen, Big Black and his tag team partner Bam Bam as hip-hop artists. Now,it's their musical skills that are ready to take center stage with the release of their debut album, Overweight Champs.
One of the main things they are bringing to the forefront is their big sense of humor, which is too often a rarity in hip-hop. The two refer to themselves as "fat and cocky," and have no problem poking fun at themselves and their love lives.
On their new song, "Just Can't Wait," the two trade witty verses about overzealous women who just can't help but lust after their big sexy guts.
"In that song, we are telling the ladies that you're not going to use us for our bodies," Big Black explains with laughter. "You're not just getting up in my pants. So get your damn hands off my man boobs."
With the joking aside, they have an even bigger message to help break down the stereotypes associated with plus size performers and everyday people.
"When people see a big dude walk into a buffet, they think that they're about to see a show, like look at how many plates this guy is about to knock out. So, we wrote a lot of our songs to address the stereotypes we face being this size and to tell the haters to fall back or get crushed," Bam Bam explains.

The two bring it all home with their positive message of self-confidence and motivation found in songs like "Do Work."
"['Do Work' is a song] to keep the big people all over the world inspired," Big Black insists. "We are a movement and we have to stay focused on feeling good about ourselves and staying healthy in the mind, body and spirit."
So sure, you can mention their size, but don't forget the size of their confidence, talent and heart that is really holding it down for the hip-hop plus size crowd.
Overweight Champs is in stores now, and on iTunes.
