Mike Tyson is off the hook for his involvement in ascuffle with a paparazzo at the LAX airport in early November.
Prosecutors said Thursday (December 31) that both Tyson and the photographer would not be charged over the altercation, after they found insufficient evidence to charge the former boxer and/or Tony Echeverria.
Both men were arrested on November 11th following an altercation at the Los Angeles International Aiport, where Echeverria was punched in the face by Tyson, who said he acted in self-defense.
Tyson was traveling with his wife and 10-month-old child, and said the paparazzo became overly agreesive, so he acted to protect his child.
Tyson's attorney Shawn Champion Holley said Echeverria collided with her stroller.
"The city attorney's decision today is a small victory for those who continue to be harassed, annoyed and even stalked by the paparazzi," Holley said.
Arizona authorities were paying close attention to the case to see if the former boxing champ would be sent to jail for violating terms of his probation in a 2007 drug case, in which he pleaded guilty to cocaine possession.
