The punch rapper Kid Cudi threw on a fan over the weekend, has gotten him booted from his current tour where he was serving as the opener for Lady Gaga.
The Cleveland rapper had been touring throughout the country and Canada with Lady Gaga on her Monster's Ball Tour, but after he punched a fan in the audience over the weekend in Vancouver, he was sent home.
While many speculate whether the incident was the cause, Cudi claims his appearances were called off over scheduling conflicts.
"Kid Cudi has decided to take an early leave of absence from Lady Gaga's Monster Ball tour, in order to balance his schedule surrounding the recording of his next album and acting commitments," a statement said on his official website. "Cudi does not want to disappoint his fans and will move forward with his individual show dates in December and throughout the month of January."
Despite the rapper's claims, sources told AOL website TheBoomBox.com that it was indeed the altercation that caused his dismissal.
If you haven't heard already, an unidentified concertgoer launched a wallet onstage during Cudi's performance over the weekend. The rapper picked it up and hurled it back into the crowd, and that's when a fan identified as Michael Sharpe caught it, but it was not his, so he threw it back onstage. When he did, Cudi became enraged, stopping in the middle of his performance and hopping into the front row of the audience. He then punched Sharpe in the face, before security restrainted the rapper.
Footage of the incident (Watch the clip right here ) made its rounds on the Internet that very night.
Following the incident, Sharpe explained what happened to TMZ, and said he didn't plan to press charges.
At press time, it was unknown who will replace Cudi on Gaga's tour. However, the Cudi camp plans on honoring their currently booked after-show club appearances.
