LL Cool JWhile legendary rockers were added to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's class of 2010, legendary New York rapper LL Cool J was among the nominees left off the list.

LL was in good company though. He, along with other acts such as he Red Hot Chili Peppers, Kiss and singer/songwriter Laura Nyro, failed to make the cut this year.

Instead, rockers the Stooges, ABBA and Genesis were selected to be honored at the 25th annual induction ceremony taking place at New York's Waldorf Astoria on March 15, 2010.

Because LL's career began in 1984, this was the first year he was available to be inducted.

LL Cool J dropped his debut album, Radio, in 1985 on Def Jam Records. Singles like "I Can't Live Without My Radio" and "Rock the Bells" were so successful, it helped the album go platinum with over 1.5 million sales.

He followed with 11 more albums over the years. His most recent came in 2008 with Exit 13, his last with the label where it all started.

To date, only Run DMC and Grand Master Flash & The Furious Five are the two rap acts to ever be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, at least for one more year.

Run DMC were given the honor earlier this year, during a ceremony in Cleveland where Eminem came out of his batcave to present them with their trophies.

Inducting Genesis is a good start towards gaining credability, and a “real” Hall of Fame, however, with out The Moody Blues inducted, I am still having a real hard time taking this whole thing seriously, however, the Genesis induction is making it tough to hate the RnR HOF as much as I had before…

LL should be in there. He was the first big solo artist of hip-hop.
