Paul Williams took on Sergio Martinez in a middleweight bout on Saturday night (December 5) at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, where Williams earned a majority decision in a classic battle.
The co-feature of the night was Chris Arreola versus Brian Minto. Arreola defeated Minto with a fourth-round TKO in a heavyweight bout. Arreola knocked Minto down twice in the final round before referee Ed Cotton stopped the fight.
Tony Thompson made an attempt to get back into heavyweight title contention in evening's untelevised undercard, as he stopped Chazz Witherspoon with a TKO in round nine of a scheduled ten round bout.
