He might've been left off MTV's "Hottest MC in the Game" list for 2009, but that doesn't matter because Eminem has been named the Best-Selling Artist of the Decade, a much bigger title we'd say.
This week, Nielsen SoundScan revealed their list of best-selling artists and Albums for the Decade, as it comes to a close. Eminem topped the list, surpassing the Beatles to chart at in the #1 spot.
Over the past 10 years, the Detroit rapper has sold over 32.2 million albums -- thanks to multi-platinum LPs like 2000's The Marshall Mathers LP and 2002's The Eminem Show, which sold 10.2 million and 9.8 million copies respectively. Both albums place at the #4 and #5 spots on the decade's best-selling albums right behind efforts from *NSYNC, the Beatles and Norah Jones.
The Beatles were right behind Eminem for best-selling, but did have the best-selling album of the decade with their greatest hits collection, 1, which has sold nearly 11.5 million copies.
While Eminem sold the most albums, he didn't crack the Best-Selling Digital Singles of the Decade. Flo Rida's infectious "Low", featuring T-Pain, sat atop that list, selling 5.2 million digital copies of the hit single, while Lady Gaga, the Black Eyed Peas, Soulja Boy, and Timbaland all landed in the list's top 10.
Eminem's latest release, Relapse, sold 1.5 million copies since dropping this year. He's got some time to go to add to his sales figures though. He'll be dropping Relapse: The Refill on December 22.
