Rockwilder Holds Beat-Making Contest Giving Away $30,000 in Cash
By Miles Bennett ♦ Published 12/08/2009

RockwilderSuper-producer Rockwilder is giving aspiring producers a chance to win prizes and $30,000 in cash, via a partnership with BeatThang.com.

The producer is introducing the "Beat Thang," a new beat machine software for both artists and producers to make beats, and features 3,000 unique sounds, and sampling ability.

BeatThang.com is giving $10,000 cash and a production deal for the producer that makes the "hottest beat." Artists will also get an opportunity to win $10,000 cash and a single produced by Rockwilder for the best song submitted over a Rockwilder beat produced on the Beat Thang.

"For the price of the 'Beat Thang' software and all that it has to offer, I feel it can be a tool to empower artist and producers to make a mark in the music industry without spending thousands of dollars to do it," said Rockwilder.

Contestants must be at least 13-years-old and are allowed to submit only three songs or beats. Submissions with extreme profanity or derogatory content will be disqualified.

Winners will be announced June 15, 2010.

For details, visit BeatThang.com.

Additionally, Rockwilder will give away 50 royalty free beats produced by him for those that download the software and try it out.

The producer had similar success with his own beats website, RocBeats.com, in the past.

I heared that some South African boys from Soweto (Johannesburg) made a lot of impact on the house music scene using the software. They are called Immortalities and they produce house music. I heared in some interview and they are apparently linked to Ocha records, Yoruba Atjazz Carlos Mena and the great Osunlade. It means the software is great then....
