2009-12-07-moviesEven though both films are in their third week, it was "The Blind Side" that sacked "New Moon" to nab the top slot at this week's box office.

The Sandra Bullock film $20.4 million this week, enough to knock the new "Twilight" film from its two-week run. It three weeks, its domestic total to $129.2 million.

"Blind Side" tells the story of Baltimore Ravens tackle Michael Oher, who is homeless and taken in by Sandra Bullock's wealthy family. They enroll him in private school and eventually makes it to the NFL.

"The movie has already done more than twice what we expected," Jeff Goldstein of Warner Bros. said of the film. "I don't think Sandra is America's sweetheart; she's the world's sweetheart."
