Kimbo Slice Confirmed To Fight In 'The Ultimate Fighter' Finale
Published 11/25/2009, by Randall Stevens

Kimbo SliceAs previously rumored, "The Ultimate Fighter 10's" (TUF) biggest draw, Kimbo Slice, has been confirmed to return during the reality show's Finale in December, and will face fellow heavyweight Houston Alexander.

The rumors of Kimbo's return have been circulating since his TUF debut in late September, in which he lost to MMA vet, Roy Nelson.

Following the loss, Dana White promised the legendary backyard brawler would return after impressing the coaches and White himself.

Kimbo has been TUF: Season 10's biggest draw since the season's debut, and following his loss, producers have teased viewers with a Kimbo return nearly every episode. Obviously, fans wanna see him fight again, and they are obliging.

This week, Spike TV and the UFC confirmed the brawler's upcoming fight, which will be held at The Pearl, inside Las Vegas' Palms Casino Resort. However, they have not yet confirmed Alexander as the opponent. Nor, is it clear if Kimbo will be fighting for the six-figure UFC contract, or if he's just there as one of the recalls from the show.

Alexander is expected to be announced during the two-hour episode. He did confirm he'd face Kimbo during an interview with Todd N Tyler Radio Empire show recently.

His opponent, Houston Alexander, is similar to Kimbo in that he posseses big punching power, enough to end a fight with one punch. However, he's suffered consecutive losses over the past few years.

Kimbo fans had high hopes for the MMA hopeful when learning about his inclusion on TUF, but his disappointing loss to Nelson has raised concerns about his possible future in the UFC, and sport all-together.

The finale match will be a do-or-die match for Kimbo. A win will extend his chances at finally making it to the UFC, while another loss could end all hopes.

"TUF: Season 10" has become the highest rated season in the franchise's history, averaging 3.6 million viewers, thanks to Kimbo.

Tune into Spike TV on December 5th at 9 p.m. to see the outcome.

In my opinion when Kimbo fought Roy Nelson, it was a staged fight. Dana White knows what he is doing. he is a buisnessman. Now seing Kimbo spar around on TUF you can tell that he is holding back, possibly at Dana Whites orders because that fight with Roy Nelson was lame. Kimbo hardly threw any punches. The fight with Alexander Houston will be a awsome fight. During that fight, we will see the real Kimbo Slice.

Kimbo is a likable, charismatic personality and that fact was shown on Season 10, however, he is a street fighter and has not trained as an MMA fighter until recently. If he can get his ground game and take down defense up to octagon standards he will be a force to be reckoned with. Until then, I am not sure he can compete with seasoned take down artists. He could beat Alexander if the fight remains on the feet and they trade punches.

@ Me…

The only reason Kimbo is on the show is for ratings. No MMA fighter respects him, they know he nothing but a street fighter.

Kimbo was useless in his fight. He thought that people would lay down for him. But he got a reality check and was put out of the contest.
Not everyone fights like he does and this was his problem. He didn’t have any defence and this is why he lost and he should be back as he is only there for the ratings as someone else said.

The farce that is Ultimate fighter has become a parody of x factor but it´s Kimbo staying in instead of Jedward, whislt Dana White is Simon Cowell thinking only of the money. Load of shite all of it. And what the feck was that soppy bollocks game of netball…sorry volleyball all about?????
