QD3 Entertainment announced the release of its highly-anticipated film, "The Carter" (a documentary about rapper Lil Wayne), this week, which was released internationally on DVD.
The new film provides an in-depth look at the super-popular rap star, Lil Wayne, who is considered by many one of the "best rappers alive."
"We are excited to get this movie out, so fans can see the creative genius of Lil Wayne," said the films executive producer, Quincy "QD3" Jones III. "I have known Wayne's team for a long time and am grateful he allowed our team unprecedented access to him, so we could show the world see what clearly makes him one of the most talented and dedicated artists today."
For nearly a year, director Adam Bhala Lough and crew followed Weezy around the world to capture comprehensive and personal interviews with the rapper and provide insights from those that know him best.
"The Carter" premiered at the 2009 Sundance Film Festival to rave reviews and features an intimate look into the public and private life of Lil Wayne -- showcasing his most personal moments and giving audiences a peak at him in a way that they have never seen him before.
It features candid conversations with the rapper, his management team, a personal interview with his daughter Reginae Carter, and also documents Lil Wayne's strenuous work ethic and recording process. Adam Bhala Lough served as director alongside executive producers, QD3, Jared Freedman and Joshua Krause.
"Working with Quincy and Wayne was a real blessing and I think we collaborated together to create something truly unique," said Adam Bhala Lough. " 'The Carter' is documentary quite unlike any other in recent memory and will appeal to cineastes and Lil Wayne super-fans alike."
