Retired boxer Mike Tyson was arrested at the LAX airport on Wednesday night (November 11), when he allegedly got into an altercation with a paparazzo outside the United terminal.

According to the Associated Press, 43-year-old Tyson punched the photographer in the face, leaving blood everywhere.

The unnamed photographer told police that Tyson punched him, he fell to the ground and was later treated for a cut on his forehead at a nearby hospital.

Tyson's spokeswoman, Tammy Brook, said that he was traveling with his wife and 10-month-old child on Wednesday afternoon when he was attacked by an overly aggressive paparazzo. She says he acted in self-defense to protect his child.

"There's a lot of different versions to this story and that's all going to come out later," irport police spokesman Sgt. Jim Holcomb told the AP. "Some witness statements support Tyson's version, others support the photographer's."

Tyson was arrested, booked on a misdemeanor battery charged and later released on his own recognizance after posting $20,000.

The photographer wants to press charges, but will be booked with the same charge, said reports, once being released from the hospital.

The boxer's attorney revealed a little more info into the incident, and said Tyson may also press charges

"I've heard people were following him into the men's room and trying to take his picture there," said Tyson's defense attorney, David Chesnoff. "My advice to him is going to be to vigorously press charges against what everyone agrees are ridiculously aggressive photographers."
