 NBA star, Shaquille O'Neal, is headed to divorce court, as his wife of over six years filed for a legal separation from the Cleveland Cavaliers center this week in Los Angeles.
According to reports, Shaunie O'Neal cited irreconcilable differences as the reason, and is seeking spousal and child support and full legal custody of the couple's four children.
"Obviously, this is a difficult time for our family, and we request that the media respect our privacy," Shaquille O'Neal said in a statement released by the team Tuesday night (November 10). "I will continue to focus on being there for our children and I am confident that Shaunie will do the same."
Shaunie intends to file for divorce. TMZ reports that she pulled her kids out of school in Florida several days ago and they are with her now in L.A.
The O'Neals were married six years, 11 months.
