Former football star Lawrence Taylor was arrested on Sunday evening (November 8) after fleeing from the scene of an accident in the Miami area.

According to jail records from Miami-Dade County, the 50-year-old retired NFL star was arrested around 10 p.m. on Sunday for "leaving the scene of an accident/property damage."

Taylor reportedly told investigators he thought he had hit a guard rail.

He was booked at a local police station, charged with a second-degree misdemeanor, and later released on $500 bond.

Taylor wasn't intoxicated, according to reports, nor was a sobriety test even performed.

Taylor was a star linebacker during the 80s and 90s, retiring in his 13th season in 1994. When he left the NFL, he had amassed 1,088 tackles, 132.5 sacks (not counting the 9.5 sacks he recorded as a rookie because sacks did not become an official statistic until 1982), 9 interceptions, 2 touchdowns, and 33 forced fumbles.

Earlier this year, he became a contestant on ABC's "Dancing With the Stars", but was eliminated in the seventh week back in April.

He gives charity to the Miami area and since he was arrested; It’s a propaganda ploy; if HE was an normal average Joe, his bond would have been larger but since he contributes more money to our system, he is allowed more lee way! HE got away with murder!WE are some pissed off people in our HOOD!B/C he could have killed someone on our roads and gotten away with it!
